Ben Pomare
Founder
As the Founder and Managing Director, Ben has built an organisation that values knowledge, quality and customer service above all else. After obtaining his Bachelor of Commerce at the Victorian University of Wellington, Ben quickly discovered a passion for sustainability and has since worked in the Renewable Energy industry for 15 years. A local himself, Ben’s vision is to cultivate a more sustainable and green future for all Tasmanians. Outside of work, Ben enjoys all things music and is prone to an early morning wake-up to watch his beloved Manchester City and spend time with his young family.
Kent Pomare
Founder and Head of Innovation
Kent has worked in the Renewable Energy industry for over 15 years in leadership and consultancy positions across Australia & New Zealand, and completed a Bachelor of Liberal Studies at Waikato University. Responsible for the planning and execution of long-term visionary goals, Kent’s blend of industry experience and innovation has seen him create a premium-quality solar solution built for Tasmanian conditions. Most of Kent’s leisure time is spent relaxing with his wife and kids at the beach or clearing his head on a long hike in the great outdoors.
Michael Kamay
Founder and General Manager
Dubbed Tasmanian Safer Solar’s “Mr. Fix It”, Michael has been working in Renewables for nine years and is our solutions expert. He works across everything from contract administration, and IT support to marketing and strategy. A genuine passion for the environment drives Michael’s dedication to his work, and his ability to wear many hats within the business makes him an invaluable asset to the team. Michael is a self-confessed cricket tragic and is often caught shadow-batting around the office.
Ann Grozdovski
Head of Operations
Ann is the backbone of the business, tasked with the vital role of end-to-end management of TSS’s solar installations. With over 20 years of experience in customer service and ten years in installation operations, Ann’s meticulous approach to work is complimented by her outgoing and bubbly personality. Ann loves to travel and enjoys water sports, but above all else, she is a devoted family person.
Todd Morris
Journey Management
Todd has a wealth of experience in the Home Improvement and Solar industry, with almost 20 years of experience. He has worked in various roles, from customer experience and journey management to installation and technical solutions. In his current role, Todd manages our customer contact team to ensure a fast, effective, and safe way for customers to invest in solar power. Todd’s passions outside of solar energy include behavioural science, music and sports journalism.
Mitch Wain
Bookkeeper
Known for his friendly demeanour and love for a good chat, Mitch is always keen to get to know people and is constantly on the lookout for his next learning opportunity. Mitch is a passionate finance enthusiast with a diverse background in both commerce and finance. He is in the process of completing his Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting at Monash University. Mitch is a passionate Richmond football club supporter and avid fan of Tottenham Hotspurs (much to Ben’s disappointment). Mitch enjoys exploring new destinations and is slowly transitioning from playing footy to taking on the challenge of long-distance races.
