I had installation of 5K batteries by this company 4 weeks ago. On the face all was looking great. I even given a great review for everyone involved on the day of installation. However I regretted the next day.The electrician who installed the batteries didn't bother to setup for me my account, so I could monitor the system. Than I sent an email to Danielle at the office for help to setup my account .She responded by phone promised me she will pass in the setting two weeks ago information, still waiting. Sorry looks to me as soon you pay the money there's no customers support. The moral is Avoid Safer Solar, Definitely by doing this you will be Definitely Safer. Cheers disappointed Richard.

⚠️ EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED & ANGRY ⚠️I signed a clear contract with Tasmania Safer Solar that specifically stated the solar panels would be installed on BOTH sides of the roof. On the installation day (3 July), their workers put ALL the panels on one side only. This is a very serious problem as it will significantly affect the solar energy reception and system performance. How is this even possible? This is a basic and serious error.I reported the issue immediately. It has now been TWO MONTHS (as of 3 September) and the problem is still not fixed. I have sent multiple emails. Early replies were completely unhelpful, and recent emails have been ignored entirely. It feels like they are deliberately dragging this out and hoping we will just give up.I am extremely concerned about the re-installation. When they move half the panels to the other side, the original mounting holes on the roof must be properly sealed. If this is not done correctly by a qualified, licensed roofing professional (NOT just a solar installer), there is a real risk of water leakage during rain and storms. I specifically requested a formal written report from a licensed roofing expert confirming the roof has been properly inspected and is leak-free. They have completely ignored this request.I chose Tasmania Safer Solar based on a friend’s recommendation and the positive online reviews. What a huge mistake. The service has been shocking – poor communication, broken promises, and zero urgency in fixing their own serious mistakes.This is completely unacceptable. Fix the panels properly and provide the independent roof inspection report immediately.I hope this review will catch their attention and that they will resolve this problem as soon as possible.

While we're confident that the actual product Tasmanian Safer Solar has installed for us is good quality we've been extremely disappointed with the communication and over-promises from this company. Their rep Jeremy came to our house and waxed lyrical about our north facing roof. He gave us the predicted performance for a system with 10 panels on that roof plus 8 on the eastern roof. Sounded good. Another company we got a quote from proposed 11 panels on the north facing roof. After the installation we came home to find only 4 panels on our 'ideal' north facing roof, 8 on the eastern roof and 6 on the western roof.Our questions about why the configuration of our solar panels is radically different to what we were promised have gone unanswered for so long (in fact, as soon as they had our money, we basically never heard from them again) that we no longer expect any response.Either the rep got it really wrong with his prediction of what our roof could handle or the installation team took the path of least resistance. I suppose I wouldn't want to have to explain it either.Still, we estimate that the system they installed will probably provide about 80% of the power they said it would so it's not all bad.

My original review, left below, was my experience from 3 years ago, with Justin.I am not sure what has Happened to the business since then, but my mother at my recommendation had a system that was producing very little benefit removed and Tas Safe Solar install a $15,000 system, with a battery and both the solar and the battery are Cleary feeding the grid not the house, the grid is then selling her back power. It is clearly showing in the app the battery also pulling power from the grid when no one is home to recharge the battery, right at peak times.Her power bill has doubled from this time last year since the install and there are less people living in the house.My mother has attempted to make contact multiple times with no response. It took me calling to actually have some one call her back. Their excuse? ‘We have had some changes with in the company and we are trying to chat b up’Not only is my mum paying for the interest free loanShe is also now paying a stupidly high power bill. They say you will be positive from day one? That’s a lie.They will ignore every attempt to make contact with them. This has been in going for almost three months.————————————————————————————I cannot recommend the team for Tasmania safe Solar enough! I had my system install about 3 months ago now and I saw results from my system with in a three week time frame!The app they use is also super simple and easy to read!The install its self was a whole day process, but the team I had were efficient and nothing but polite.If you’re looking for solar, be sure to give these guys your time!

I have spoken with their sales representatives twice now, and both experiences were highly unprofessional:1 First call: After hearing my requirements, the rep told me they needed to check with their manager and would call me right back. I never received a call back.2 Second call: I explained my requirements again to a different rep, who simply hung up the phone mid-conversation without any explanation.This is absolutely not the proper way for a sales team to treat potential customers. Very disappointed with the lack of basic professionalism and service.

Had high expectations for Tasmania Safer Solar (TSS) after reading that they are one of the leading solar providers in Tasmania. Unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing.We applied for a solar system in November 2025, and installation was finally completed in early March 2026 after more than 3 months of wait. Our nightmare began almost immediately after installation.Although the solar app shows that power is being generated, this is not reflected in the Aurora Energy app. Weeks and weeks after installation, I was repeatedly told that the system was “functioning well,” despite clear evidence that it is not operating as expected. In fact, there is NIL power supplied to my house/grid from day 1 of installation.Communication has been a major issue. Multiple follow-up emails and phone calls were either ignored or took days to weeks to receive a response. I was repeatedly redirected to Aurora Energy, with TSS suggesting that the problem lies with them. However, after spending considerable time contacting Aurora, I was consistently reassured that there are no issues on their end.I have also requested an on-site inspection, but no clear date has been provided. More than a month after installation, my solar system is still not functioning properly, it's basically producing power but I'm not able to utilize it and it's also not going to the grid, and there is no clear resolution in sight.Overall, this has been an extremely frustrating and time-consuming experience. With so many solar providers available, I really regret choosing TSS — easily one of my biggest regrets of 2026.Those who have gotten quotes or expressed interest in their products/services, please find a different provider, it's still not too late for you🙏🏻 Take their lack of response/communication as a major red flag🚩- Update -A technician attended a site after my last review but was unable to identify any issues with the system. We were then redirected between Tas Networks and Aurora. After contacting Tas Networks, they confirmed there were no faults on their end.After more than a month of repeated calls and emails, Aurora eventually identified the issue as a faulty meter and arranged for somebody to fix it. This resolved the original problem. However, a new issue has since arisen — over a month of solar data is now missing or unaccounted for.As consumers without technical expertise, we were being "kicked" between multiple parties without clear direction or ownership of the issue. Ultimately, the resolution from TSS was for me to follow up directly with Aurora, as they had confirmed their solar system was functioning correctly.In light of the eventual resolution, I am updating my rating for TSS. However, I am still unable to give a 5-star rating due to the delays and lack of responsiveness in communication throughout this frustrating process.

Worst company ever. I was sold a 10kw system with batteries for a 4 bedroom house (it’s just me and my two boys). They told me this is more than sufficient for my needs (in Winter) and I would end up with a credit on my Aurora Bill over time. Based on what they said I agreed for it to be installed.I have a two phase home, which you can easily see in my meter box and they were told multiple times. They installed the solar on one phase only (that phase only contains lights and some power) so I am still paying for power on the other phase which my heating and hot water was allocated to (I am on tariff 93, it’s just how the house has been wired on the two phases). So I am sending 2/3th of my solar generated power back to the grid whilst still paying for power as the other phase is not utilising the solar. Its costing me nearly $500 per month for the solar repayments and Aurora and we haven’t even hit winter. I am a single mum, this is killling me. The solar was installed in March and I still can’t get them to send anyone out to fix it. It has just been a roundabout of excuses.

UPDATEI think it is only fair to update my review after being incredibly frustrated and let down by the poor communication from Tss (as stated by other)and multiple days lost due to last minute rescheduling and no shows i had to contact the sales rep directly to get some action.A team was sent from Hobart to complete our installation they were led by Bailey and were efficient and professional in their work, we were impressed by their work and commitment to complete our job on the day.They are a real asset to your business. A hand over / run down was given afterwards and any questions we had were answered and explained well. A big thankyou to these guys for getting our installation done, we look forward to see how the system goes.I suspect my previous lengthy 1 star review may have prompted action from TSS which is a shame however we had been disappointed by their communication and cancellations and been waiting some time to have our job completed. All went well with my job, however I am now having some software issues. But I will work on that. I will however be honest when I recommend you to people. I recommended you to my step daughter only for her to get stuffed around when she had trouble with the installation. Finally, after nearly two months, someone came down to take a look and found it was wired wrong. Still not fixed. Also, they are owed money for tilts that were recommended, paid for, for but not needed. She has given banking details three times, still not sorted. If you want me to recommend you I will because you have good gear and do good work, but as I say, I will be honest and explain our experiences concerning your follow ups. TSS were great with the sales and installation process and I was very happy with the service provided. I did however have an issue in December when the power went off and the battery failed to kick in. I contacted their support team before Christmas and because of the timing I was happy to defer resolving the issue until the new year.I have been contacting TSS regularly by phone and email since then requesting support and have never receive any follow-up and my issue remains unresolved.Suffice to say I am very, very disappointed with the support provided and in no way could I recommend TSS as their ongoing support is non existent.After my above post TSS contacted me promptly and arranged for a tech to visit site. The Tech who came, Bailey, was great and identified and resolved the problem promptly. Happy now with the outcome. Just unfortunate that it required giving negative feedback in order to get action.

I don’t like to talk badly about a Tasmanian company but we are glad we’ve managed to avoid this one. Our experience with TSS started out strong, after submitting an interest in more information someone was at our house quickly to talk us through the options and sign us up in early December 25. We were told then that we’d get solar installed in February or March 2026. After signing us up for the finance, everything went quiet. For months (Jan-Mar) we emailed and called every few weeks for an update on next steps or when the work was scheduled for. We never (literally never) heard back, it was like this was a ghost company. On the phone we would ask to be put through to someone who could tell us something (anything) but the answer was always that we’d be called back later today. We were never called back. We’re now in mid March and still nothing heard about when the job was scheduled for, even though we were told Feb/Mar. We know can delays happen, but no one ever got on the phone to tell us it was delayed. This also didn’t bode well for if we eventually got the gear installed and had maintenance issues, how could we get through to someone for repair? 25 years warranty doesn’t mean much if they never call you back. So we emailed through to cancel. We followed up with a phone call to cancel. No one seemed to mind that we wanted to cancel and we still didn’t get past the person who answers the phone. Eventually our original guy who came to our house called me back today (a week later) to confirm our cancellation. He did apologise for no one ever ringing us back - but it’s wild to me that we tried to contact him personally weeks ago for an update on the job and he has only called us back now that we said we were cancelling. So glad we have managed to avoid this company after many red flags. Reading through the other recent reviews it sounds like we’ve dogged a bullet.

Tasmania Safer Solar started out well for us. We signed up in December 2024, and at first we were really happy. John, who came to discuss everything with us, was lovely, and the solar panels were installed quickly and without any issues.Unfortunately, things went downhill after that. We discovered they had not installed the meter on the hot water cylinder. From that point on, it became months of back-and-forth, with us being told they couldn’t do it. At that stage they still occasionally answered the phone, but eventually communication became almost impossible. After never actually installing it, they finally agreed to give us a refund in September 2025, around 9 months later. We still have not received that refund.We were also told in December 2024 that if we recommended other people, we would receive Woolworths gift cards. We referred two people who went on to have solar panels installed with Tasmania Safer Solar not long after ours. We submitted the forms but never received the gift cards.Now, more than a year later, I sometimes get 30-40 notifications a day saying the solar panels are derating. We have tried many times to contact Tasmania Safer Solar, but they either do not answer the phone or there is no option to leave a message.Sadly, I now tell people to avoid them. My friends I recommended them to have had similar experiences and they were also messed around when their system was not connected properly and they couldn’t get hold of anyone either, despite calling many times a day.Based on our experience, I would not recommend Tasmania Safer Solar

Updating my previous review. After a long period of back & forth and delays, the issues have now been fixed.The team attended and resolved the labelling requirement raised by the inspector, and adjustments were made to address the battery backup issue that previously did not work during a blackout.Communication earlier in the process was frustrating and slow, which is why my original review was left. However, once the matter gained attention, things started moving and the required work was completed.Special thanks to Liam for his initiative and dedication in helping push things forward, Sean for his positive communication experience, and the GJ Electrical team who carried out the work seamlessly on site.At this stage everything appears to be sorted. The only real test now will be during an actual power outage to confirm the battery backup performs as intended.I appreciate the issues being resolved and hope future customers experience smoother communication during the support process.
